The Rev. Karen Boda serves as Good Shepherd’s Pastor following her call in 2025.

Pastor Karen began her professional life with a degree in Computer Science / Mathematics from Furman University in Greenville, SC. She then had a long career in Customer Support Management at Hewlett Packard, later spending several years as a partner in a small management consulting firm.

She and her husband, Alan, raised their three children in a Lutheran congregation in Marietta, GA. During those very active and wonderful years, Karen served as a lay member wherever called, including Council leadership, Call Committees, Choir, VBS, Endowment, Youth Ministry, and much more!

Pastor Karen’s call to ordained ministry came while attending seminary at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, “just to learn more”. The long road through the Master of Divinity at Candler, ELCA Candidacy process, then affiliation with Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary concluded with a joy filled ordination surrounded by family and friends. She now relishes in the practices of corporate worship, engaging with all kinds of people and understandings, leading Bible studies and working with all ages and generations.
