Faith formation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is more than a program. It is a lifelong, communal process of being shaped by God’s grace through Word, Sacrament, service, and relationships. Faith formation is about growing in trust in God, deepening our identity as followers of Jesus, and being equipped to live out that faith in daily life.
This formation happens across the lifespan—from infancy through older adulthood—and includes worship, scripture engagement, prayer, service, and everyday experiences of faith at home, work, and in the world.
