“Blessed are you, O Lord our God, maker of all things. Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts. With them we offer ourselves to your service and dedicate our lives to the care and redemption of all that you have made, for the sake of him who gave himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen” (Lutheran Book of Worship).

Good Shepherd signed an official statement declaring our commitment way back in 2018.
We’re particularly proud of our ongoing initiatives to recycle. Stop by the church and see how you, too, can help by recycling any of the following:
- Oral Care Waste (toothbrushes, floss containers, tubes…): donated to TerraCycle.
- Batteries – all types
- Eyeglasses and Cases – donated to the Lions International.
- Pop Tops – donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
- Prescription Medicine Bottles – donated to Matthew 25 Ministries.
- Gently Used Professional Women’s Clothing – donated to DRAKE HOUSE.
- Scrap Metal, Aluminum, and Glass – taken to Woodstock Recycling.
- Hard-to-recycle items – We utilized the HEFTY ReNew Program and use the orange bags.
Twice a year, in November and April, we sponsor an Electronics Recycling Event in our lower parking lot.

* We recycle all ink and toner cartridges, but unused units go toward donation amounts
** CRT Monitors and TVs under 32” require a $25 per unit processing fee. Units 32” and larger require a $40 processing fee (to process heavy metals and caustic materials)
*** Please remove passwords, Google and iCloud accounts, and perform factory reset on devices to maximize donation amounts. We can assist as necessary
