We are part of the community of Woodstock, Georgia and are honored to help serve our neighbors using the resources God has given us. This includes using our building as a place for the community to gather. We are proud to partner with the following organizations:
The Alzheimer’s Association
Many families in our community are caring for loved ones who suffer from a form of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. This caring is holy and sacred work, but it can also be hard, overwhelming, and lonely. We are trained and sponsored by the The Alzheimer’s Association to provide a Caregiver’s Support Group in Cherokee Country, meeting on the second Saturday and the fourth Thursday of each month, at 1 PM in our Fellowship Hall. On occasion, we also provide a space for specialized education programs. Topics have included Dementia, Elderly Driving, Hospice, Funeral Planning, and Health Care Directives. Check our calendar for a current listing of events.

Child’s Play Early Learning Center
For thirty years we have proudly served as the home of Child’s Play Early Learning Center, one of the premier Christian preschools serving Cherokee County. We love to spend time with the children during our “Church Chapel” each month, our annual trunk or treat, and Vacation Bible School. They are an extension of Good Shepherd and we love them!

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
We are the proud home for three Girl Scout troops. We love to see the young women develop a confidence that grows from within, all while exploring their own curiosity, dreams, and talents. Interested in joining a troop? Reach out to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.

Red Cross Blood Drive
Our long-term relationship with the American Red Cross results in quarterly blood drives in January, April, August, and November at Good Shepherd. We were also one of the few locations used during the COVID pandemic. When signing up for one of our drives, please use our sponsor code: goodshepherdlutheran. You too can save a life.

Voting Precinct
We have been designated by Cherokee Country as an official voting precinct for over 15 years. Check the Georgia Secretary of State’s election calendar for dates and voting precinct assignments.

Throughout the years, we have also opened our doors to neighborhood associations, Tae Kwan Do communities, receptions and parties, and summer tutoring organizations. Need space for your non-profit to meet on a recurring basis, or need space for a one-time event? Check out our Building Use Policy and give us a call.
